Personal: Good Days
The biggest lesson that I've learned along the road of this testimony with my mother, is that there are good days and there are bad days. Of course we all know that right?! Well, it's one thing to know it and another to experience it...
The days you have to swallow your frustrations.
The days that seem longer than others.
The days that victory seems further away than the battle.
...but we're still pressing forward! It's amazing how she's the one fighting, but is so much stronger than I am.
This past weekend was a couple of those good days. Friends, family, and laughter were in abundance. We've gone through the diagnosis to making a treatment plan. My mother was set up with an AMAZING woman, Dr. Ellen Blair Smith at Texas Oncology in Austin-Midtown. She started chemo and powered through most of it. Even with a small stroke along the way, her consistency in her faith God gave me so much encouragement.
Chemotherapy is ending soon and we're prayerful to get back a new normal. Still faithful, but more appreciative. God is sovereign and we trust Him. So glad to have amazing friends and family that have been present and ready to serve at any time. A new chapter is brewing and I'm just glad I can be apart of it.
Cancer sucks and is expensive. If you feel led, donations for my mom are greatly appreciated (and needed)...large and small, it all helps! Thank you!
